My Cassava Suman

Last Holy week, we were able to visit my sister's family. And it was always that my brother-in-law send us some stuff for our way back home like plants, fruits, etc. but this time he gave me some cassava and tips on how her mother make a "suman". So i think it's so simple and that kept me interested and then ask for banana leaves from his mini farm in case i've got sometime to do it. It's my hubby's favorite and that was my motivation. That was Saturday. and on Sunday, Easter Sunday, i've got my mojo to do it and here's how my version came about:

Ingredients:
3 pcs medium sized cassava = 2 cups grated cassava (balinghoy or kamoteng kahoy)

3/4 cup brown sugar
banana leaves (bond size; to soften, heat both sides to open flame)

Procedure:
Mix all ingredients
Roll 3 tbsp of mixture and wrap in banana leaf
Steam for 30 to 45 minutes.

Yield:
10 pcs cassava suman

And voila...Nice experience. Simple. Yummy.
Hubs enjoyed it and finished all of them! =)
